What’s the best way to end Homecoming week? The Homecoming football game, of course! The University of Wisconsin-Stout Blue Devil football team (4-1) will take on the Stevens Point Pointers (2-3) at Don and Nona Williams Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 1:00p.m.

The first time these teams met this year, in week three, Stout was heavy on their run game. Senior running back Rayshawn Graham rushed for nearly 200 yards and three rushing touchdowns, leading the way for the Blue Devils in a 45-14 win over the Pointers.

Expect a change in the Blue Devil offense, as Graham left the game early in the third quarter last week with an injury in the win over the Eau Claire Blugolds. The Blue Devil offense has found success through the air as well. In the first five games of the 2021-22 season, Junior quarterback Sean Borgerding passed for nearly 1400 yards and sent 12 touchdown passes.

On the receiving end, Junior wideout  Levy Hamer leads the team so far with 373 receiving yards and four touchdowns. The Blue Devils are coming off a four point win in Eau Claire, retaining possession of the “War on I-94” trophy for the sixth consecutive year.

Meanwhile, the Pointers find themselves in a rough patch coming off three consecutive losses, starting with a loss to the Blue Devils in week three.

This series has been tight in recent years, with UW-Stout winning the last four of seven matchups. Each matchup has been decided by seven points or less, with exception for the UW-Stout win in week three.

The Blue Devils are at work to keep their momentum going for the highly anticipated homecoming game, while the Pointers will try to swing their momentum after three consecutive losses.
