Student-Athlete Spotlight: Kierre Rhodes

This issue’s Student-Athlete Spotlight is Kierre Rhodes a senior on the University of Wisconsin–Stout football team. Rhodes is a health, wellness, and fitness major and is from St. Paul, Minnesota.

Why did you choose Stout?

I choose Stout because of the education and the employment rate after graduation. The employment rate is high here and that’s the one of the biggest reasons to go to college, to get employed when you graduate.

Outside of school and athletics, what are some other things you like to do?

I have a few hobbies, I love to detail cars that’s part of my entrepreneurship, I’ve been doing it for five years, I am a herpetologist. Herpetologist is the study in reptiles, I enjoy studying reptiles and collecting I also breed them as well. I enjoy working out just in general even if I didn’t play sport I would work out, its my way to stay in shape and to clear my mind, also I love cooking my food is delicious. Finally, I love to study the cosmos. I’m a big geek for biotech engineering.

What are a few interesting facts about yourself?

I breed reptiles and I have a wife and 2 sons

Who is your favorite pro-athlete and Why?

My favorite pro athlete is Antonio brown, his work ethic is inspiring, and I try to mimic him the most when it comes to football.

What is your plan after college?

My plan after college is open a car detail shop, expand this cleaning business I’m apart of, open a reptile shop and try out for a pro team.

If you had to pick another sport to play, what would it be and why?

I would choose baseball, unfortunately I don’t have the best of eyes so I would have to wear goggles or some sort of eye ware, but yea baseball has always caught my eye and being from Minnesota the twins have always been my team.

What’s your favorite place on campus?

Well besides anywhere that has food lol My favorite place on campus is the sports facilities center.  Its where I spend most of time and I just love the vibe in the place, nothing but inspiring athletes and hardworking coaches in there all trying to be serious but at the same time we all joke around with one another.

Favorite Food of All Time?

My favorite food of all time is my home-made pancakes, eggs and bacon. I love to cook also, and I love my cooking.

If you had million dollars what are the top three things you spend it on?

I would invest in land, my business and places to travel

What’s your favorite song right now?

favorite song right now is Canton Jones “Elohim”

If you could pick any other position to play, what would it be?

For most of my life I was a running back sometimes I wish I never switched but running back is truly my primary position. I had lots of success with that position I just got tired of guys ripping at my ankles, so I switched position for health choice.
