The staff said they were “blown away” by the amount of campus choice votes. They received almost 978 votes for campus choice, with 589 of those going to the International Club. Although votes kept rolling in after the deadline (over 1,100 total), the International Club retained their victory.

Aubrey Huff, outreach librarian, said she hoped for at least 50 votes, thinking students may not be aware of voting. It was not part of the 2019 contest, which was the last year the event was held before the pandemic.

“This contest is always interesting, and it’s fun to see how orgs interpret the contest and use their space. Some windows were genuinely scary, some used humor in lieu of horror, but all were incredibly well done.” Huff said.

According to Huff, there were no conflicts aside from one group accidently using another group’s window, but that was “an easy switcheroo” to amend. To improve the contest, the library would like to offer more space for additional groups to participate. “We want to see everyone represented!” Huff added.

The Involvement Center contacted all the winning organizations and coordinated the prizes. Announcements were made available for viewing on the Library’s Facebook page, and will be included in the upcoming Library newsletter.

1st Place: American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA)
