This week’s Student-Athlete Spotlight is Rebecca Fesenmaier, a Senior on the University of Wisconsin—Stout Women’s Basketball Team. Rebecca is an early childhood education major and is from Spring Valley, WI.
Why did you choose Stout?
I chose Stout because I loved the Early Childhood education program. I also loved the atmosphere of the team.
Outside of school and athletics, what are some other things you like to do?
Some of my hobbies include cooking, waterskiing, and hanging with my family and dog Jess!
What are a few interesting facts about yourself?
I am the only one in my family who didn’t go to UW-River Falls. My 3 brothers and both of my parents went to UWRF.
Who is your favorite pro-athlete and Why?
What is your plan after college?
I am getting married this summer and my fiancé and I are going to be living in Minnesota where I will hopefully find a job as an elementary school teacher!
If you had to pick another sport to play, what would it be and why?
I am the only girl in my family and I always wanted to wrestle instead of play basketball when I was little because that what I grew up spending every weekend watching my brothers do, so young me would have probably said wrestle. But right now it would have to be volleyball because I miss playing!

If you had million dollars what are the top three things you spend it on?
A house on a lake, a dog, and a trip to Italy.

If you could pick any other position to play, what would it be?
Ummm, probably a post, but I think I would have to grow a few inches.
