On Aug. 9, 2024, “Toy Story 5” was announced at Disney’s D23 event. The main cast is expected to return, despite Tom Hanks saying, “Toy Story 4” “[was] the end of the series (Melas, 2019).” A Hollywood celebrity wouldn’t lie like that, would they? Additionally, a piece of concept art was released with the sullen toys looking at Bonnie playing with a tablet at night. While some are questioning why we need a fifth movie or why Woody is there after “Toy Story 4,” we got the leaked plot after an interview with an anonymous animator. To prevent violating their non-disclosure agreement, our source will be credited as “trust me bro.”
“After coronavirus shuts down her school, Bonnie is gifted an electronic tablet by her parents so she can keep learning. She uses the learning app named Baducation to learn basic math and play games. Eventually, she starts playing games all night and never plays with her toys again. Baducation refuses to share playtime with Bonnie. Then, the slasher movie influence is real as the less important toys in Bonnie’s chest start to get “killed off.” The toys get so distressed about the “murders” that Bo Peep mails Woody through the PO Box back to Bonnie’s to investigate them.
Meanwhile, Baducation leads Bonnie into dangerous social media apps, and she becomes the biggest communist fascist boomer 6-year-old girl in the Tri-County Area. Eventually, Woody discovers that Baducation is behind the murders and Bonnie’s toys team up to stop it. Baducation tries to protect itself by ordering 101 Buzz Lightyear toys from Al’s Toy Barn to create an evil Buzz Lightyear army. However, Bonnie’s toys are tougher and break all the Buzz Lightyear toys into a giant pile of limbs. Eventually, they break the tablet by throwing it on the ground (complete with the Lonely Island song).
Bonnie is upset by this, but her parents reassure her that she has her toys she’s had for years that are real, and technology is all bad, except sounding way more forced than how I just described it. Inspired by the emotional manipulation, Bonnie spends the rest of her childhood as a Luddite, mainly because her parents are too cheap to buy her a new one. She eventually gives her toys to another phone-addicted kid down the street. The toys destroy that phone and create their own nationwide hit squad to destroy all technology that distracts children.”
Why that ending? Because ”Toy Story” can never end. “They’re already planning two sequels, a prequel trilogy, a Disney+ miniseries, a thousand-page novel, and at least 800 more characters,” says our source.
