UW-Stout’s Jamie Beatty delivered a historic performance at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) National Championships, capturing national titles in both the all-around and the uneven bars.
Beatty won the all-around competition with a school-record score of 38.800, securing her place in Blue Devil history. She tied for first in the uneven bars with a 9.775, matching the second-highest score in program history. In addition, she recorded a personal best on the floor exercise with a 9.775 and posted a 9.675 on the balance beam.
The WIAC Newcomer of the Year, Beatty becomes UW-Stout’s first national champion since Mikala Bugge claimed the vault title in 2022. She is also the program’s first all-around national champion and the first Blue Devil to win the uneven bars title since Meghan Hargens in 2010.
Senior Gillian Cummins also delivered a standout performance, placing fifth in the uneven bars with a personal-best 9.700 to earn All-America honors. She added another All-America accolade in the all-around with a fifth-place finish, compiling scores of 9.175 on vault, 9.700 on uneven bars, 9.625 on balance beam, and a career-best 9.775 on floor. Cummins capped her collegiate career by being named the NCGA Senior Athlete of the Year.
Taylar Schaefer finished 15th in the vault with a score of 9.650, while Isabela Krulich tied for 16th on the floor exercise with a 9.775. Sarah Lutz and Effie Ferguson tied for 25th on the uneven bars, each scoring 9.525.
