Stout Hockey is making its way into the playoffs after a 5-4 win against UW-River Falls on March 7th. The game ended in a close finish as River Falls scored three points in the final six minutes, bringing the Falcons within a point of a tie. However, the Blue Devils pulled out the win and claimed the WIAC Championship for the first time in history.
The D3 Men’s Ice Hockey 2026 Selection Show gave Stout the home ice against Anna Maria College. The game will take place on March 14th and will start at 7:00 p.m. The first 200 UW Stout students will get in free, otherwise it can be streamed free online through the NCAA.
A win from this Saturday’s game could have them playing either Utica University or Williams College on March 21st at an undetermined location.

Stout Hockey has already been making records this year, becoming the only Blue Devil hockey team to win the WIAC regular season outright. In the D3 NCAA National Tournament bracket they were put as the 5th-seeded team. They become the highest-ranked team to come out of the West Region, with Aurora University tailing in at the 7th seed.
The Blue Devils continue their win streak, bringing them up to eight games won in a row. Their overall record moves to 21-5-1. Stout Hockey has historically played 134 games against River Falls, the most out of any team they’ve played in the history of the program.
Tickets for Saturday’s game can be pre-purchased through Stout’s online ticketing service here.
